Portland school teacher Mike Martin asked us to help create an online home for his classroom of 1st-graders.
Mike's goal was to have a self-managed website where he could effectively share class newsletters with parents.
For the graphic design we involved the children (thus getting them very excited), directly using pictures of their art projects. Every part of the website has the hands of the children in it, literally, from the opening picture to the blue paint texture that was excerpted from a student's painting.
The content management system is Wordpress. We recently (Winter 2009) grew the website by added several new pages. Wordpress smoothly allows such expandability, while staying easy for the client. Mike and his students enjoy regularly contributing to the website, and relatives around the globe have sung its praises.

"The parents are excited about the (school) website you made for me. They described it as "inspiring" and "playful" and it's so easy to manage that I've even let the kids help upload content!"
